The Ghana Education Service has censured some students of the Chiana Senior High School in the Kassena Nankana West District for defamation against the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
This action follows the circulation of a viral video on social media on Sunday, November 13, 2022, displaying female students who were insulting and defaming the president.
The students were seen using foul words and subsequently insulting the mother of the president.
“You do your head like sika mp3 d3d3 (sic) Akufo-Addo we need your head for money rituals…we only need your head, your mother (sic) You are sitting down with your big head that you are president, president for the where? (sic) I am my own president.” The students said.

Reacting to the video, GES stated that the “management of the school has begun investigations to unravel the circumstances surrounding such unfortunate utterances and gestures.”
Additionally, the Headmistress of Chiana SHS, Ivy Betur NAASO indicated that the school has initiated disciplinary procedures for students and, the parents of the five students have been called to the school to assist in the investigation.
The Ghana Education Service further apologized to the president on behalf of the students and school assuring the general public that punitive actions will be taken against the students.
